Dr. C. Keith Connor Field is named after the first Director of Athletics and is home to the baseball program.
Dr. Connor was inducted as part of the inaugural induction class of the Southern Wesleyan University Athletics Hall of Fame in October 2005. This first class was inducted during Homecoming Weekend celebrating the centennial of Southern Wesleyan. Dr. Connor was responsible for establishing the athletics department at Southern Wesleyan, formerly Central Wesleyan College, in 1970. Dr. Connor not only led the department, but also coached numerous teams over the 30 plus years he served as Director of Athletics.
Connor Field opened in the spring of 1992 after several years of construction due to the location of the field. Prior to 1992, the team played at local high school fields, city fields and even one year at Clemson University. It took almost five years to raise the field to the level it is today, going from 130' to the current 170'.
In 2005, the facility underwent a major renovation as part of a joint effort between the university, Town of Central and the City of Clemson. A major fundraising effort provided seating for over 500, including 112 stadium seats. Restrooms, concessions, pressbox and a Presidential Suite was added during the renovation project.
During the 2017 season, Southern Wesleyan's Dr. C. Keith Connor Field dedicated a new Warrior clubhouse. Dr. Walt Sinnamon, former Head Baseball Coach of the Warriors and now Dean for Southern Wesleyan's College of Arts and Sciences, and his wife Carol, retired director of counseling, heard of the desire to build a new clubhouse and presented the Warrior Baseball program with a generous donation toward the clubhouse in the memory of Dr. Sinnamon's late parents. The Parker-Sinnamon Baseball Clubhouse, dedicated on February 22 in a pregame ceremony, honors Walt's father, George Sinnamon, his mother Florence Sinnamon, and Robert Parker, Florence's second husband who she married after George's passing. The clubhouse is a climate-controlled facility that includes a new locker room, bathroom, laundry area and kitchen for the team to use.
